"Steve Spanks is happiest when his audience- a "tough crowd," he says- laughs at him. And points fingers. And shouts.
Sleight of hand. A rabbit in and out of a top hat. Flowers springing out from behind his back All in a days work for the local magician.

The kids at the Boys and Girls Club watched Spanks carefully-in awe, in speculation and in appreciation-as the magician worked his magic."
As the show begins , Spanks introduces the audience to Roscoe, his rabbit in a hat. "This is my friend Roscoe," he said, as some of the children first begin to notice that Roscoe, first wiggling about, begins to snatch at the carrot in Spanks' pocket. Spanks is seemingtly oblivious, waiting for the children to tell him what's going on. " You have the carrot!" one child shouts. " He's got it! It's in the hat!" The children scream, as Spanks searches for the carrot...

And so the show unfolds, with helpers from the audience stepping forward to lend a hand in holding a magic wand, a magic bag, a magic egg and even a rubber chicken.
